When you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.  The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.   Ephesians 1:13-14 (NLT2)

[Jesus] I obey my Father, so that everyone in the world might know that I love him.  John 14:31 (CEV)

Have you ever wondered why you love God so much?   There are a lot of people out there who think we are a little off for putting so much faith in a God they can't see.   They don't understand why we would spend so much time in church or looking to help people that they would want to avoid.  I don't blame them for their skepticism.  After all, there have been times when I didn't understand it myself and I was the one doing it.

I've come to the conclusion that it has everything to do with God's Spirit living inside me.  I can't look at people or circumstances with a perspective that does not include His.   I may want to, but I can't.  Oh, I can act on my own perspective, but when I do, I innately sense I am distancing myself from Him.  This must be the evidence of His presence in me.

God's Spirit is always giving me a way and a reason to love God.   Every act of obedience has to be preceded by the Holy Spirit showing me God's perspective and the adjustments I need to make to line myself up with Him.  When I make those adjustments, I am truly loving God.  Those who don't know Him won't understand why I do what I do, but I will.  And now, so will you!   Go out and love God today, because you can!
