God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered his life's blood, so that by faith in him we could come to God. And God did this to show that in the past he was right to be patient and forgive sinners. This also shows that God is right when he accepts people who have faith in Jesus. Romans 3:25 (CEV)

God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world. 1 Corinthians 7:23 (NLT2)

What good is a gift if it is not received?  What good is a gift if, once received, it is set aside?  Not much good at all except as a conversation piece.   It doesn't really matter how much the gift cost if the gift itself is not something I want or need.   I appreciate the thought when I think of the one who gave it to me,  especially if I know it was expensive.  But if I've long since stopped needing or wanting it, that's as far as it goes.

I think sometimes I forget the high price God paid so that I can walk with Him in this world.  Today I want to take a minute and evaluate His gift to me.  His gift is not heaven.  His gift is not my family.  His gift is not the many blessings I have in my life that make my life better.  He is my gift.  I know that there is not a day that goes by that I don't need this gift.  There is not a day that goes by that I don't want this gift.  So Father, thank You for YOU!   Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice so that I can have You!   Holy Spirit, thank you for the conviction, guidance and protection that have made my life meaningful through every situation I have face or ever will face!   God, though I don't deserve you and never will, thank You for YOU!
