At the Flood the Lord showed his control of all creation. Now he continues to unveil his power.  He will give his people strength. He will bless them with peace.   Psalm 29:10-11 (TLB)

I remember driving through a neighborhood less than a mile from my grandmother's home that had been hit by a tornado.   I'll never forget the shear devastation of homes, trees and cars along the path of that tornado.  It wasn't even two blocks wide but it went for more than a mile.   The homes on either side of the tornado's path were totally untouched.  I was amazed at the concentrated power that snapped trees and leveled homes.   It almost takes your breath away.   Whether you believe in God or not, you realize that there is power out there that can destroy everything you hold dear in an instant.

God demonstrates His power in many ways.   Believe it or not God wants to demonstrate His power today through you!  According to Psalm 29:11, God continues to show His power by giving His people strength and blessing them with peace.   You may not realize it, but God wants to give you strength to face life's challenges today.   He knows that you or someone you know will face issues that cause worry and frustration today.    When we trust God in these situations and when we help others do the same, we are experiencing God's power in our lives.

God wants the world to see that He is in control.  When we trust in God's strength and move in God's peace, we let others see the control He has in us.   I wonder if someone will see the power of God in us today.   I am grateful that God chooses to use us to demonstrate His power instead of a flood.    I'll bet the people around us will too.
