I said to myself, "Relax and rest. GOD has showered you with blessings.  Soul, you've been rescued from death; Eye, you've been rescued from tears; And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling."  I'm striding in the presence of GOD, alive in the land of the living!   Psalm 116:7-9 (MSG)

I've decided that every now and then I need to just slow down and take it easy.  I don't know about you but I have a tendency to look at what is happening right now and project it into the future.  If things are going well, I naturally relax because the future looks stable.  But if things aren't going well, I tend to move, first with my mind, then with my emotions.  After my emotions have had their fun, I go back to thinking about things I need to do to fix things.   And so it goes.  The problem is that even in relatively good times there is always something to stew on.    Things may be well financially, but a relationship is strained.  I may be fine with my relationships but something physical is causing me problems.  Or maybe someone I love is struggling and I feel the need to do something to help but my efforts seem fruitless.

We're always saying something to ourselves.  We tell ourselves we need to do better, be smarter and think quicker.  We tell ourselves things are going to get better or worse even though we really don't know one way or the other.

Today I'm going to say something to myself that I know is 100% true.  I'm going to say, "Bob, relax and thank God for all His blessings in your life.  Your eternity is secure in Jesus Christ!  He has made you a much better person than you could have ever made yourself!  He has comforted you in times of trouble and redirected your life away from temptation! You are able to walk with God today and see things from His perspective!   So relax and enjoy the people around you!  If you look, you will see that every one of them is a blessing from God.  Either He will bless you through them or them through you and in some cases He'll do both.  Relax Bob, you don't have to figure it out in advance, just keep your eyes on Jesus!  He's got it all figured out!
