We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.  2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NIV)

If you are like most people, some days are a lot harder than others.  Hard days are not fun.  They have a tendency to wear us down which makes us weak and susceptible to the poor me's.   Challenges make us who we are.   How we face them demonstrates our values and beliefs.   So when others see us go through them, they see what we are truly made of.

Sometimes, when life gets rough, it is good to engage in a little reality check.   We don't necessarily need to get out of our challenges in life, we just need to see the truth in them.   If you belong to God, here is the truth:  Yes, I am in a difficult circumstance but I am not and will not be defeated by it!   Yes, I have no understanding as to why this is happening to me but I am not going to let my concern mutate into worry and/or despair.   Yes, there are those who are coming against me but I am not alone.   Jesus stands with me and so I will stand with Him.   And yes, this situation has taken a toll on me, but I'm still here, ready to follow Jesus in, through and eventually out of this circumstance, right up to the last breath I take.

Sometimes, this is all it takes to live in faith.  When others see it, they see who we really are:  More than conquerors in Christ Jesus our Lord!   Fight the good fight today, it starts within!
